Oluwakemi "Kemi" Balogun, DNP, CRNP, FNP-BC

Dr. Oluwakemi “Kemi” Balogun is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director of MedHaven Health, licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia. With more than 16 years of clinical experience spanning emergency care, medical surgical and ICU units, and outpatient primary care, she brings hospital-level expertise into a warm, community based family practice setting.
At MedHaven Health, Kemi provides comprehensive care for adults and families, with a special focus on women’s health, addiction medicine, weight management, and chronic disease management. She performs in office procedures such as Pap smears, IUD insertion and removal, contraceptive counseling, and complete physicals for work, school, and sports, while also managing conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, and autoimmune disorders.
Known for her active listening and thoughtful questioning, Kemi takes the time to understand each patient’s story, goals, and barriers to care. She is passionate about integrating mental health, substance use treatment including MAT, and preventive care so patients do not have to navigate multiple fragmented systems to get the support they need.
Her training includes an MSN from Walden University, a BSN from Bowie State University, and additional graduate study culminating in her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Outside the clinic, Kemi is active in community education around preventive care and chronic disease, and she enjoys mentoring future nurses and nurse practitioners.

Rose Oyugi Okowa is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered primary care at MedHaven Health. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed through the Maryland Board of Nursing, caring for patients at MedHaven’s Glen Burnie location on Ritchie Highway.
Rose offers full scope family medicine with an emphasis on women’s health, preventive care, and chronic disease management. Her clinical work includes annual wellness visits, comprehensive physicals for work and school, Pap smears, birth control counseling, and IUD insertion and removal, as well as the diagnosis and management of conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and thyroid disorders.
She also plays a key role in MedHaven’s addiction treatment services, helping patients safely navigate medication assisted treatment while coordinating closely with behavioral health providers. Patients appreciate her calm, reassuring presence, clear explanations, and ability to make complex medical decisions feel understandable and shared.
Rose completed her advanced practice nursing education at Averett University and maintains active participation in professional organizations to stay current with evidence based guidelines in family medicine and women’s health. She is committed to building long term relationships with individuals and families, meeting patients where they are, and supporting sustainable lifestyle change over time.

Florence Alli is a double board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of clinical experience. Licensed in Maryland and Washington, D.C., she has provided compassionate care in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings for children, adults, and older adults.
At MedHaven Health, Florence integrates primary care and mental health, offering comprehensive evaluations, medication management, and ongoing follow up for patients who need support with both physical and emotional well being. She has extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, sleep disorders, and co-occurring substance use conditions, while also managing chronic medical issues such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
Florence is deeply committed to reducing the stigma around mental illness and addiction. She partners with each patient to create personalized, realistic care plans that respect their values, culture, and life circumstances, whether they are just beginning treatment or working to maintain long term stability and recovery. Known for her calm presence, careful listening, and thorough assessments, she helps patients and families feel heard, informed, and supported at every step in their journey.

Princess Talbott
Office Manager Certified Medical Assistant
Prinncess Talbot is MedHaven Health’s Office Manager and a Maryland certified Medical Assistant with more than six years of hands on experience in outpatient care. She oversees both the front and back of the office, coordinating schedules, supporting clinical workflows, and making sure each visit runs smoothly from check in to check out.
Highly organized and detail oriented, Prinncess is known for her calm efficiency, warm personality, and ability to anticipate what patients and providers need before they ask. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, respectful environment where patients feel seen, heard, and supported at every visit. Outside of work, she loves to travel and explore new foods.
Sonia Ascensio
Lead Medical Receptionist Patient Access Coordinator
Sonia Ascensio is MedHaven Health’s Lead Medical Receptionist, bringing more than 20 years of customer service experience to the front desk. As the first voice and face many patients encounter, she plays a central role in helping people feel welcome and cared for from the moment they contact the practice.
Sonia is highly knowledgeable about scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and patient follow-up. She coordinates appointments, manages provider schedules, and ensures that telehealth and in office visits are booked correctly and run on time. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she is especially skilled at guiding Spanish speaking patients through registration, benefits questions, and follow up instructions, helping reduce barriers to care and improving each patient’s experience.
Sharon Elias
Medical Receptionist Billing & Insurance Support
Sharon Elias recently joined MedHaven Health, bringing nearly two years of experience as a dental office receptionist and a strong foundation in insurance verification and billing. She quickly became an integral part of the front office team, known for her friendly demeanor, reliability, and willingness to go the extra mile for patients.
Sharon is responsible for managing incoming phone calls, emails, and front desk communication, helping patients with appointment requests, paperwork, and basic billing questions. Her background in insurance workflows allows her to help verify coverage efficiently and support accurate processing of visits. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she plays a key role in making it easier for Spanish speaking patients to schedule appointments, ask questions, and stay engaged in their care.
